Key changes to the totalisator commission rates (take out rates)
Commission rates have been updated. Commission rates for ONE POOL hosted races and for local tote hosted races (where applicable) are as set out below.

Key changes to the betting rules
The existing betting rules for NSWTAB, SuperTAB and UniTAB have each been updated to allow each to commingle in ONE POOL’s national totalizator pools or operate as local pools where applicable. A common set of commission rates have also been adopted as above.
Copies of the betting rules can be found here.
Key changes made on 22 September 2026 to enable ONE POOL:
- Introduction of ONE POOL whereby each of the three current totes, NSWTAB, SuperTAB and UniTAB pools are able to pool into one national pool (but are not mandated to do so) on domestic races. Any of these jurisdictions may host ONE POOL.
- The betting rules of the host of ONE POOL will apply (to the extent they determine the calculation of dividends (including totalisator commission rates and jackpots), but otherwise the betting rules of the local tote (i.e. being NSWTAB, SuperTAB and UniTAB) apply.
- At the commencement of ONE POOL, TAB VIC's totalizator systems will host commingling and calculate dividends using information from all jurisdictions. This ensures one dividend is provided to all Australian customers, regardless of which TAB jurisdiction you place your bet with.
- In the unlikely event that operational or technical reasons result in one or more of the local totalisators not commingling in ONE POOL and a ONE POOL dividend cannot be declared, the local totalisators (i.e. NSWTAB, SuperTAB and UniTAB) will revert to conducting standalone pools and calculate dividends locally.
- If a race isn’t a ONE POOL race at the commencement of betting, but then becomes a ONE POOL race, all investments can be included in the ONE POOL pool. This is because when there is a ONE POOL on a race, there will be no stand along or local tote pool as well.
- Jackpots which are generated through ONE POOL can only be used on ONE POOL races. This means if TAB has to drop back to stand alone local pools (i.e. NSWTAB, SuperTAB and UniTAB) for example because we have to fix an issue with ONE POOL, no ONE POOL jackpots will be distributed on that race, and will instead be distributed on another ONE POOL race determined by TAB. This ensures fairness to all customers, ensuring ONE POOL jackpots are only distributed on ONE POOL races.
- For BIG6 races, the substitute will be the selection with the greatest amount of money invested on it on that same race in TAB’s win totalisator pool. This aligns the BIG6 substitute rule with the Quaddie substitute rule.
- For QLD, TAS, SA and NT customers, the minimum dividend paid will increase to align with the VIC, NSW and ACT minimum dividend, being $1.04.
